With over 30 restaurants under its umbrella, Creole Cuisine Restaurant Concepts needed a digital presence as diverse and dynamic as its culinary offerings. Southleft partnered with Creole Cuisine to craft a digital strategy that could serve a three-course meal: 1) a marketing site for the overarching brand, 2) a special events platform, and 3) a multi-theme, capable of quickly and efficiently creating unique but connected websites for more than 30 restaurant brands.

One Theme, Many Flavors

The primary challenge was designing a versatile layout to accommodate over 30 different sites. We had to address issues like varying logo dimensions—some tall, others wide. The goal was to create a flexible and modern multi-theme that could be tailored to the unique content and branding of each of the 30+ restaurants.

Additionally, managing a digital presence for a conglomerate of over 30 restaurants is no small feat. The platform had to be user-friendly for the small team at Creole Cuisine Corporation, who would manage all the sites. The theme needed to be easily adjustable through the WordPress dashboard, allowing for a high degree of customization without the need for extensive technical skills.

With this insight, we shifted our focus to problem-solving within the designs, translating Creole’s requirements into a limited set of highly flexible, modular components. The project was executed on WordPress with designs crafted in Figma. We used Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) in WordPress for easy manipulation of site components, crafting a multi-theme that Creole Cuisine staff and restaurant managers could tailor to their specific needs. We also developed separate designs for Creole Cuisine’s main marketing site and their special events offerings.

One of the most notable achievements is that this complex system, launched four years ago, has needed no maintenance despite the numerous browser and OS updates we’ve all experienced. We believe this speaks to the quality and durability of our coding techniques.
